John J. “Joe” Terril
Founder and President
Terril founded Terril & Company in 1979. As an independent investment advisor, the firm currently oversees investment portfolios valued at more than $310 million for clients in 14 states. The company also serves as an investment sub-advisor to the trust departments of banks, where it manages the portfolios of their high net worth clients.
His engaging style in communicating investment strategies and creativity in interpreting national and international business trends has led to appearances on KMOX-Radio 1120, KMOV-Ch. 4 and KETC-Ch. 9. His commentary also periodically appears in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, USA Today, the Wall Street Transcript, the St. Louis Business Journal, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Associated Press.
Terril began his Wall Street career in 1976 as an institutional account executive with a major Wall Street firm.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois in Springfield, Ill.
David Carter
Senior Portfolio Manager
In addition to assisting with the investment management of client accounts, Carter works with Joe Terril in monitoring the firm’s current investments and directing its research on new investment ideas.
Carter’s advisory career spans 25 years, with a consistent focus on value investing. Prior to joining Terril, Carter was affiliated with Wisconsin-based Milwaukee Company. After relocating to St. Louis in 1987, he was an investment advisor for the former Burns Pauli and for Huntleigh Advisors.
Carter earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.
Kristen Russo
Senior Account Representative
Russo applies her more than one decade of experience in client relations management to quickly establish strong, cordial working relationships between new clients and the company. She also assists with account administration. Prior to joining Terril & Co., Russo was a financial services representative for Commerce Bank.
She holds a degree from Wichita State University.
Chanda Adair
Senior Administrator
Adair is responsible for tracking and coordinating the reporting of transactions related to investment portfolios. She also handles day-to-day operations and assists with client account needs.
Prior to joining Terril & Co., Adair was a co-owner and operator of Heartland Gymnastics in southeast Missouri.
She holds two bachelor’s degrees from Southeast Missouri State University in Business Administration and Exercise Science.
NOREEN ADAIR
Associate
Adair is responsible for tracking and coordinating the reporting of transactions related to investment portfolios.
Prior to joining Terril & Company, she was a legal assistant for a law firm in southeast Missouri.
Adair earned a bachelor's degree in journalism, with a minor in theater, from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
