THE ANNUAL RETURN GOAL

The annual return goal of Terril & Company is absolute – not relative. This mindset is in sharp contrast to traditional index-driven money managers who in a year when the S&P 500 declines 14 percent find it satisfactory to report a 12 percent loss to clients. Terril does not find this to be an acceptable result.

Consistent, solidly positive performance is the imperative at Terril & Company where the goal is to generate an annual rate of return that is 3 to 5 percent greater than the inflation rate, plus taxes and fees.
